Hello,
I notice that the share menu no longer works on my Mac running El Capitan 10.11.6
Firstly I tried sharing a website from Safari to Notes (and Mail) but nothing happens and it causes all the buttons in Safari to become greyed out and most of the menu bar items are greyed out also. I have to quit Safari (the red close button does not work after attempting to share).
I then tried sharing a file from the finder and this also does not work. It causes almost all of the context menu items to be greyed and all menubar items to be greyed out. Pressing the red button to close does nothing and I have to right click > relaunch finder to get it working again.
I have tried powering off the mac and doing a PRAM and SMC reset but this did not help. I also tried deleting the Safari plist but this also did not help.
I have tried setting up a new computer account but the problem still occurs.
I also tried booting into safe mode but still no luck.
No new software has been installed and nothing has been changed on the computer recently.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

P.S. When I tried booting into safe mode this revealed more oddities than it solved. When booting into safe mode there was a very weird screen animation on the login screen which kept repeating itself while the computer was login in to my account. Basically the screen kept revealing itself in stages from the bottom up. I haven’t explained it very well but I will try and add a video to the thread later.
In safe mode the share menu still did not work and when pressing on any of the traffic lights (close, minimise, fullscreen) they would not work and the menu bar and dock would flash a faded colour everytime I clicked on those buttons.
Here is a video of login on safe mode:
