I'm just trying to get an idea of how my battery usage compares to other 8 Plus users...just out of interest really.

I started with 100% charge and put it back on charge at 20%, this is what I got (iOS 11.2.6);

Usage - 8 hours, 22 minutes
Standby - 42 hours, 35 minutes

I started at 100% in the morning at 7:30am and it’s 8:30pm right now. Sitting at 82%.

Took my 8 Plus off the wireless charger this morning at 6. Now it’s at 74 percent with 3 hours and 24 minutes of usage. On 11.3 beta 4...seriously battery life is amazing on this thing!

Do you mean it's amazing on the 8 Plus or Beta 4 (specifically)?

The 8 Plus has amazing battery life, on a 10hr day with about 3hr SOT, without bluetooth, with decent cell reception, I manage to get home with about 60% battery life left. This pales in comparison to when I first had my iPhone 4 where it would leave me with about 19% left by the time I was done my 8hr work day.

The 8 has OK battery life, not great. On the smaller 8, with poor cell service, bluetooth off, I'll get home with 83% left, with roughly 30 minute SOT. A heavy user will be disappointed with the smaller 8's battery life and most likely won't last a full working day.

My usage drops to just over 5 hours when on 4G (in a strong signal area). It's amazing how much less power WiFi uses.

In general I'm very happy with my iPhone 8 (not plus) battery life. The only time I've really needed to do a mid-day charge was recently on vacation with heavy picture and video taking usage.

Today is a little unusual in the opposite direction since I'm WFH, which changes my usage profile a lot without a commute.

Current status: 77%
Usage: 1hr, 56 min
Standby: 9 hr

11.2.6

None of this information is useful. There's so many different ways of using the phone that impacts the battery differently. Using a phone /apps one way can trash the battery before happy hour yet use the phone & different apps differently and the same phone & batt could squeeze out 2 days.
