Hi,

I'm considering converting my current Lion Mac Mini into a Lion Server as I like to look of some of the features it has. However I have a question about the shares Calendar and Address Book which Lion Server can provide.

My wife and I both have iPhones, I have read up some articles on the device management provided through Lion Server, but I was wondering how invasive this is? I'd like to enroll both iPhones with my Lion Server and access a shared calendar and address book from it, but without affecting any of the existing calendars or address books currently on the phone (my wife syncs her contacts and calenders with Gmail, I use iCloud etc...). Is it possible to push out a config to both phones which adds the new calendar and address book without wiping each phone?

I just bought the book "Using OSX Lion Server at Home" so I could see how it's done before taking the plunge. You might want to check out the "We Got Served" forums.

Yeah, my searches did take me to that site quite a bit but their Apple forum coverage seems a little on the light side. I did check out their multi-part guide on Apple Lion Server but it didn't cover what I'm after...

Hmmm... if no-one else has tried this, I may just have to give it a go over the Christmas holiday and see how I get on.
