Shared Image Access for iOS and OSX

I have a question in anticipation of getting my first iOS device soon.

As with most, I will sometimes save images from sites, while on my MacBook, to custom folders. I think, and I hope, that an iPad will become my primary device, and so I'd like to be able to do much the same, saving images to my orderly folder system, as on OSX.

From the time I've spent on iOS devices not my own, I know you can use the Photos app as a image repository as well, so it seems this can be a workaround. However, unlike saving an image in OSX's Safari, you can't name and choose the directory at the time of saving in iOS's Safari. Saving an image in iOS's Safari, then having to open Photos to rename and reassign to the desired folder is not as swift. Also, another concern with this approach is that Photos' navigational/organizational functionality is tedious compared to Finder. So if I commit to Photos for the sake of my iPad, when I'm on my MacBook, I'll be using a much inferior workflow.

What are my options for shared image access (and saving) between an iOS and OSX device?

I would prefer a native workaround, however, I'm certainly open to any apps there may be that would facilitate this if it's more expedient.

You could do something like that (manual management based on folders) with Dropbox, but don't expect the same kind of open workflow as you have on desktop.

While Dropbox works well on OSX, as it integrates perfectly into Finder, it doesn't offer any swifter image management in iOS over using Photos. Still, it may be a consideration if there aren't any other options.

I'm not aware of any app that would feature the kind of organization your require AND also have a robust sync with desktop, sadly.
