Sharing 101 ?

Hello;

I need help setting up my MBP. I have multi users and I want everyone to share the same files. When I use my account I can access all the files; but when I use someone elses account they are not available when using Iphoto, Itunes or Imovie. When I tried using the sharing folder it seems as if the files are being copied to this folder instead of just being linked. I don't want them copied and have duplicate files. Can I just change the default path for Iphoto, Itunes and Imovie to my location and give them permission to use my files? If so how do I do this? Eventually I want to get a network ready HD as our central location for all our files.

Put all files you want to share in the Shared folder, not just aliases. Yes, you can change the default folder location in apps, generally in the Preferences. For example on iTunes:
