Sharing an iMac

I added my wife to my Mac but it’s not working like I want or expected. The issue is in the fingerprint reader and swapping from my login to hers. Not 100%, but basically, if I’m logged in and she uses her fingerprint, the computer will switch right over to her account and back to mine if I use my fingerprint. That’s exactly what a want. However, if the computer is at rest, with me logged in, using her fingerprint does not log me out and log her in. I’ll try logging out and see what happens, but is there a way to get it to seamlessly just open up whichever account hits the fingerprint reader no matter what state the computer is in (out side of it being off)?

Sometimes you have to press the TouchID until it clicks. Try that.

Sometimes you have to press the TouchID until it clicks. Try that.

Tried that. Doesn’t seem to be any discernible pattern to when it works or doesn’t. Might be time to contact Apple.
