Sharing Id's

Firstly thanks for looking!

Ive tried searching, googling, multiple forums and websites but just don't understand how to do this so wondering if you lot could help me?

Me an my dad share apple id's for the sake of paying and downloading apps/music etc. once but now mine and his contacts have collabarated as one so he has all of mine and I've got all of his!

Is there a way to have this set-up?:

My iPhone/Macbook: App store - Email#1 iCloud - Email#2

His iPhone/iPad: App store - Email#1 iCloud - Email#1

P.s: if our iCloud accounts were separate, would that mean the extra storage I've bought from apple be removed for me?

you should share apple ids for purchases. you can share each others purchases now with iOS 8

but you should never share iCloud accounts, your emails and your calendar, and text messages would get all mixed up and most people do not want to read each other's text messages

Thats the exact thing i want to accomplish and avoid as its whats happening right now and very frustrating!

I think i may have done this! If someone could confirm I've done this correct it would be great.

Firstly i removed my @icloud account from my apple id account.
I then Signed out of everything on my iPhone/Macbook.
Then i signed into iCloud with my @icloud account then my AppStore with my original Apple ID account (a @hotmail account).

Will this have split my iCloud from his if he is using the original Apple ID account (the @hotmail one) for his iCloud account?

Just set up family sharing. My wife and I do that and it's easy and great.

Yes there is a way for this to be setup (my wife and I do exactly this).

just sign into the app store with Email #1. then both of you should create new Apple IDs to be used for iCloud purposes (contacts calendar etc). Or ONE of you can use email #1 for your icloud account as well and the other person would just create a new ID for icloud purposes.

My wife and I each have our own iCloud Apple ID and share a separate Apple ID for App Store/iTune purchases.
