I just thought that someone could make this work.

I've read somewhere on apple website that iTunes has backup function for iPhone, which includes calendar, address etc... and ""Note"" app. So, can anyone find that backup file on Mac and make nice interface to write on that file so literally Mac and iPhone share Note app? And we can use iTunes' revert function to put the edited note back to iPhone? Doing that I don't think we have to hack on the iPhone side.

But, I don't have enough skill to do this...

So please share your knowledge !!

I can't address your question, but Leopard includes a "notes" feature in Mail which we can hope will sync with the iPhone

yeah... maybe I need to wait til sept for 10.5 :(.

But please someone? I tried to look for the backup file in preference, caches etc., but I can't find it yet. Maybe in hex or something format I have no idea how to use of...

Anybody restored the phone from iTunes, was note actually restored all the typing you had on iPhone before? Well, I should test myself, but I haven't done it...

Anyone wants to try finding out? I will post my findings too. Thanks

notes are definitely stored in the iPhone backup within iTunes. I had to exchange my phone, came home, synced and restored from the backup of my old phone, and there were my notes, almost as if I never switched phones.

unfortunately, I have no idea where this data is kept within the backup. I would suggest, however, that this may not be the best solution, as the only way to sync from desktop to iPhone would be through restoring. not really something I'd want to be doing all the time, especially with a "hacked" backup file.

personally, im okay with waiting for this within leopard.. gives me something to look forward to, while i enjoy what my phone can do now.
