Haven't seen anyone mention this, but on both my iPhone 17 PM and iPad Pro M4, when in Chrome and I go to share a URL via messages (tapping the share icon on the address bar), instead of getting a thumbnail of the referenced page, I get a giant (tall) all white placeholder. If you tap it, it does go to the site, but what happened to the preview thumbnail?

I tried the same thing in Safari and it works normally, as does sharing a URL via Messages in the Google (not Chrome) app. It just seems to be Chrome. If I copy and paste the URL in Chrome, that also works as expected. Just sharing the page in Chrome does not work.

It all started with iOS 26 (surprise, surprise!).

Anyone else have this issue and were you able to fix it? Could just be a permission or setting I'm missing somewhere?

Same issue here. Can't figure it out. Tried deleting Chrome and reinstalling, clearing cache, hard restart, etc. Nothing worked. As you mentioned Safari works and pasting a URL works too, just not sharing directly from Chrome.

It seems to be better in 26.1 (beta 2) as I just tried it on another iPhone with the latest Chrome and the bubble isn't all white now. It's still giant, and is almost a render of the site page instead of being a smallish thumbnail with the page title and a small picture like you get when you copy and paste the URL into Messages.

So maybe it's somewhat of an iOS 26 issue? I still wish it was the smaller thumbnails and not a giant page representation bubble.
