Hey everyone, I just got my first macbook and I have noticed the edges are pretty sharp. What do you do to not let this bother you when your using your mac? Is there anything, or do you just have to lift up your wrists? Just looking for some tips! :p Thanks!

I rest the balls of my palm on the bottom of my hand just above the edges, so I don't make any contact with the sharp edges.

The macbook's edge is sharp, but if you have correct typing posture, it won't be a problem. If you're typing like you should be, then your wrists should be suspended in the air above the notebook's edge.

If you must type with your wrists along the edge, I suggest wearing long sleeves or maybe using a notebook sleeve to cover the edge.

iCurve + external keyboard and mouse/trackball.

Who would want to use all those accessories with a laptop? That seems more annoying...to me.
If i had that problem, i'd try as silly as it sounds, fingerless gloves. ha!! Silly but if i had to type a lot, i'd give it a shot.

Someone should invent something that you could wrap around the edges. What about those colored skins? I don't even know if they make them for the Macbook but if they did maybe they have a curve around the edges?????

I have a macbook and cant get my wrists to rest on the edges while typing even if I try. How are you typing, exactly?
I have to tilt the macbook backwards in order for my wrists to touch the edges while I type.

IMO, the MacBook's sharp edges are the #1 biggest shortcoming of the otherwise pretty excellent MacBook design.

Although its not something that really bothers me on a day to day basis, the sharp edges feel uncomfortable if your hand happens to rest on them (or when picking up the MacBook), and I find they contribute to a feeling of cheapness and lower-quality construction when compared against the iBook's silky smooth edges.

I really hope that Apple fix this for future MacBook (nano?) revisions...

I looked at the blackbook, but aside from the screen res, the sharp front edge was the biggest drawback for me, and there didn't seem to be any need for it, frankly. The MBP hasn't got one, so why the MB? As for all these suggestions about cases, sleeves, external k/bs and gloves, for chrissakes (!): why should you have to?? Just make the dang things NOT sharp in the first place!

I agree with the poster above, too: coming from an iBook, the MB just seems cheaper and not as well built or thought out.

Try using a pad like the macally bookpad. For some reason I am more likely to rest my palms on the flat surface instead of the edge when i use this product. Also, it comes right up to the edge of the macbook so it takes some of the sharpness off. I like this particular pad better than the other ones. It's softer and doesn't have ugly logos.

My solution was to sell the stupid thing - for a company that prides itself on its designs the sharp edges were ludicrous and unacceptable. Cheap and nasty - like having your hands drifting above barbed wire fence.

Get the top case replaced...

Found my macbook had sharp edges before I had apple replace it with their new revision due to a crack on the edge...now no sharp edges at all!

For aesthetic reasons, I really like the sharp edges. I don't like the curved edges of the iBook. I can't imagine how this is causing problems for all of you ...

How do you get yours up there!? . . . *amazement*

Try lifting your wrists while you type, even on 'normal' edges, you should not rest your wrists while you type. They should be parallel to the keyboard.

And yeah, Apple should fix this. No, don't try sanding paper, it wont work/will make your laptop hideously ugly.

Haha, damn. I could've sworn I wrote "balls of my palm". Editing.
