Now that Apple has killed its own Dashboard and Sherlock, I'm wondering if it's still possible to run any of the previous apps, or if there are alternatives available?

Or do the existing macOS sidebar widgets, and running iOS apps on Apple Silicon, make them redundant?

Sherlock was a feature introduced in Mac OS 8 over 25 years ago... I doubt there's any way to run it other than finding a Mac that still supports the PPC Mac processor and classic Mac OS. It's all built-in to Siri now. As for Dashboard, there are other similar apps still around, but essentially Apple replaced it with the macOS Notification Center.

Thanks, yeah. I realise this is mainly a nostalgia trip, but I can't help feeling we've lost something without all that at-a-glance info leveraged by third parties.

For instance, I preferred the iStat Dashboard widget to the current menubar solution.
