I removed my shift key on my Air due to some sticky motion, and no I cannot figure out the reinstallation procedure.
I then stupidly removed the other shift key, thinking that I could use it for reference in case I did something wrong, and now I can get neither back on correctly.
The key design uses 2 metal bars, and every time I reinstall the key it gets stuck all the way down.
I havent had a key I have not been able to reinstall before, so this is extremely frustrating.
No one on Youtube touched the shift key; rather, they removed the other large keys but they only have one metal bar.

Any tips?

Isn't that what hammers are for? :D

The new key should have come with two white plastic clips. Assemble them together. Once together, clip them to the keyboard. Place the rubber cup in the center. Press the new key on top, it will click in. Done.

This is a nearly brand new M1 mac air. I had something sticky on my hand and caused the key to become sticky. There doesnt appear to be anything broken at all, I simply cannot figure out the sequence to get the key lined up to where it pops back up after being depressed. Currently, after I reconnect it, it just stays stuck in the down position.
I need to take this one back because I already purchased a 16/512GB, and wanted it to be in perfect viewing condition. Sounding like famous last words at this point, FML
