I returned an iMac for exchange to Apple online. I got an email acknowledging the replacement order, but I have not received an email that it has shipped and the replacement does not show up at www.apple/orderstatus. My return was delivered to Apple today.

My question is, will I get tracking info for my replacement iMac? I need to know when it will be delivered so that I can be there to sign for it.

Thanks

I have been through this several times.

Unfortunately Apple's online system is hit and miss with things like this.
50% of the time you cannot view the replacement's status online, but you will get an acknowledgement when the order is submitted (usually within 24 hours of Fedex alerting apple that they have the defective unit). You also get a shipping email when it eventually ships.

Depending on how good your tech support/returns rep was, it may be directly added to your order and you can track it as if it was a normal order, going from not yet shipped, to prepared for shipment, to shipped w/ tracking.

Be sure to alert Apple that you have dropped off the original unit, so they can "release" the replacement.
Either way, when the order eventually ships, whether or not it shows in the "order status" page, you WILL get an alert email with tracking information.

Good luck!

I received my 27" i5 last Friday, and it would just shut itself off and go black every 15-20 minutes of use. Needless to say, I sat up a return with Apple Care that night. The new one was immediately added to my original order, and it changed to Prepared for Shipment less than an hour after the Fed Ex guy picked up the faulty one on Monday morning. It is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, and is tracking just fine on the Fed Ex website.
