Shipping from apple

Help, quick, please. I cancelled my order with macmall last night because their 11" (upgraded) were not going to be in until november 8th, but now that I'm about to order from apple...I'm seeing it may not be that much better. 3-5 days until shipping, and then free "standard" shipping, where as macmall was free overnight.

Those of you who ordered upgraded models from apple, how long did it take before it shipped? It's sounding like I should just go back to macmall (cheaper too since they don't include tax...)

It took mine 4 days before it was actually shipped. The standard shipping option really isn't bad maybe 2 days tops? Mine shipped this past Thursday and is sitting in my local depot waiting to be delivered on monday.

I ordered my "Ultimate" 11.6" 1.6GHz/4GB model on Saturday 10/23. They shipped it on Wednesday 10/27. It is expected for delivery Monday morning, November 1st. That is 3 business days to build (Monday - Wednesday), and then five days to ship. Plus a total of two weekends. A total of nine days from order placing until delivery, if they deliver on time.

That is more than 1-3 days to build and 2-3 days to deliver. 9 days! Two complete weekends and one week! Quite awhile. but I guess they are backed up with all the orders right now and they are doing their best to deliver.

Ordered 2 MBA 11's on October 25. One $999 version (for the wife) that was shipped on the 26th and delivered on the 27th (shipped from Tennessee to Missouri). The other (mine) was customized with all options and shipped on the 28th, got held up a day due to the 2011 Office update, and is scheduled to be delivered on November 1 (shipped from Shanghai, China to Missouri).

I ordered my 11.6/4gb/1.6/128 online on October 24, late in the afternoon. It shipped from CN on Wed, 10/27 and is supposed to be delivered the morning of Monday, November 1st.

IMO ship time from retailers likely are referring to business days and not all week days.
