Yes, I realize that this forum is not FEDEX so save me the snarky responses about the futility of my posting. This post is purely cathartic.

For the last two days, my Macbook Pro was scheduled to arrive tomorrow according to their own tracker. I jump on today and, lo and behold, it is now showing up 3 January. I call and the snippy lady clearly could provide no good reason for this and basically gave me the "that's the way it is" response.

FEDEX is usually pretty good, too... grrr...

The problem is that the lady answering the phones can't really do anything besides tell you where your package was last scanned. I once sent a package UPS and it didn't get tracked at all and I called UPS and got nervous. They didn't do anything besides tell me they would look into it. A few days later the guy got the package and he said that some sort of metallic goo had been spilled all over the barcode...

Happened to me, too. I ordered a MacBook from MacConnection on Tuesday and it said it would ship that day and be here in 2-4 days. Well, on the DHL tracking it looks like it didn't ship until Wednesday and they said they said the estimated arrival date was January 2nd. Oh, well. Better late than never.

Hope all goes well with your new machine, michaelsaxon.

ups is no better

i ordered my 26" acer monitor on 16th. supposed to be here on 20th. newegg put a tracer on it, but it's still not here. it only had to come from TN to NC. it's lost.
on the bright side, newegg is out of stock on them and can't send another until a new batch comes in. the good thing about that is the new ones probably will have the dvi problem fixed that a lot of people have complained about, but i think i could live with vga -- if i only had my monitor!

I feel your pain. Fedex "lost" the iPod I had bought for my boyfriend. They could provide no explanation other than to throw up their hands and shrug. I ended up going to the Apple store and getting one while I waited a week and a half for Apple to refund my money.

Interestingly enough, my boyfriend ordered me a Nano that was supposed to arrive the same day via Fedex. This was "lost" as well but he re-ordered and it arrived (overnighted by Apple).

Needless to say, I will be ordering a Macbook in a couple of weeks but am nervous about Fedex delivering it. Too bad Apple won't give us the choice...

I would like to rant too. Estimated delivery date was Jan 2 for my MB, now its pushed to Jan 4th due to "delay beyond our control". What the heck?! Now I have to wait a full week...gahh!!

Hey now.
I used to work for Fedex and I know what it's like to have to ship several thousand pieces of freight every single night. :)
With that being said, I used to always hear stories about people stealing boxes and whathave you. I could tell you some stories...

"delay beyond our control" is the key word. Snowstorms out west may be the culprit. You can wait an extra two days, I'm sure you'll live;)

So far, it sat at the drop off point for 26 hours, then it sat in Toledo for another 12 hours...

I dream of getting a bunch of investors together to start a shipping business that works seven days a week, including holiday and Sunday deliveries. I know I'd pay for that.

I'm gonna copy and paste a post that I made in the community section earlier! we have almost the exact same story

Grrrr! I ordered my Christmas present (CD BlackBook Refurbed) on the 26th (Tuesday) with a bag from Apple.com. They both shipped on Wednesday, but form separate locations(Both in California). The BlackBook shipped from Sacramento and the expected delivery date was Dec. 30th. It hasn't changed it's status (Left Fed-Ex Location in Sacramento) since then. This morning I woke up, and the delivery date was changed to Jan. 3. I called Fed-Ex and the lady insisted that the delivery date has not changed. I really need my Macbook by Sunday night! This Sucks! Does anyone know if I can ask Fed-Ex to change my shipping option for more money (I used the free Fed-Ex Ground Shipping)? Why would it take 8 days to get from Sacramento to Michigan? That's BS. The bag, which shipped at teh same time from a different location in California, still has an expected delivery date of Dec. 30!

From this thread

fedex ground is the worst shipping there is.
From what i heard.....(i don't know this for sure) is that the fedex ground drivers are contracted not normal Fed Ex employees. So that might say something.

I believe that may be true. The guys who delivered my macbook weren't even in a fedex truck. It was like a Penske truck and they were just wearing street clothes. Either way it arrived on time.:)

The FedEx truck didn't even come buzz/knock on my door today. They just dropped off my printer at the main office. What the hell is that? I hope they don't do that with my MB...

EDIT:
Just checked the tracking online, it's in GA already...really hoping it gets here by Wednesday latest.
