I ordered an i5 yesterday. The process took about 2.5 hours and I told them that was entirely too long. I placed the order and then they had no history of it so i had to call in and do it again. I told them that it was a waste of my time and cell minutes to have to do that so the woman I spoke with had no problem giving me overnight/2 day shipping. I didn't care which.

I just got the order acknowledgement today and it says it ships the 11 and delivers the 16. It also says standard delivery on it. Since I didn't pay for it, will it even say it's expediated shipping?

Also, when I first placed the order earlier in the day they said it shipped within one week. Now it's closer to two because it's like it never happened and now I'm further back in line. I really think I'd like the overnight now, but that still puts me behind...

Okay here we go.
First, I don't know what happened to your order. Apple is usually pretty good (personal experience) when you call and explain your difficulties with an order. Especially a phone order. Apple has called me in the last week to discuss an issue I took with a woman who wasn't as up front about shipping as she should have been. I suggest you call and state your case.

Overnight shipping or expedited shipping would show on your order, free or not. I know this now for fact because I am having something replaced and was given free overnight shipping and $50.00 off my order. Both show on my order form (online). So if she said she would give it to you and did not then she lied. Despite what you may believe, you're not entitled to anything, but it would be good measure if it really did take you 2.5 hours to order a computer over the phone. I question why you bothered. Why not hang up and do it online? Sounds like there is something missing there.

Now, overnight shipping, 2-day, 10 day ... that clock will not start until the product LEAVES the shipping warehouse. This is something people seem to fail to understand. Even still though, leaving on the 11th and arriving on the 16th is not expedited by any means.

You can call and get overnight shipping but if it cannot leave until the 11th then you're really only saving yourself a few days. You can pay for the service or hope that they hand it to you for free. Just present your case and be calm about it. Don't make it sound like a bitchy whiny rant. I did just this yesterday and simply asked them to explain to me the differences in a product and like I said, next thing you know they were giving me something new to replace a refurb, $50.00 off and free overnight shipping. I'm sure the kid would have given me his first born had I asked for it.

Just to add to this.... I ordered a core i7 yesterday and paid the $33 for 2 to 3 day shipping. It shows up on my order. Mine says it will ship on the 11th and be delivered on the 16th as well.

Let's hope that these dates are not correct.

I understand shipping wont take 18 days. I just want overnight when it becomes available. I would have loved to order it online but my g5's logic board is toast and living in a small town, all of my friends were out for the weekend and the library was closed. Trust me. I only order online.

I understand waiting time on the phone because they are busy. It was the fact that the order never sent a confirmation so I recalled and they never had any idea of the order until about an hour into the call. My name, phone number and email address are simple. So I then had to reorder. Apples fault, not mine. They appolgized and agrees to the shipping upgrade immediately. I just thought. Read that it sometimes didn't show that if it was free. Maybe it was tiger direct.

Anyways. The second time I wanted to talk to a person. They took a really long time to find my order and then finally made me re-enter it, thus putting me behind 5 hours of orders on black Friday which then made the order about 10 days longer than they originally described.

Your forgetting that "2-3" days is kind of the like the deception of $99 flight where they don't mention the fuel tax, landing strip tax, guy leaning on suitcase tax, etc.

the 2-3 are business days and thus not including the weekend and thus 14,15,16 would be the maximum that it would take.
