Shipping times with new products?

If an updated MBP is released Sept 12 at Paris, how long is the shipping likely to take to get to me?

I basically have one week (plus a day or two) after the 12th until I leave for college.

How long have apple products taken to arrive when they have first come out in the past?

Will it be too late to get one in time?

Nobody can answer that question for you. There are too many variables. How much stock Apple have? Do you want a CTO build? Are those CTO parts in stock or months away?

I've seen Apple machines shipping same day, and I've also seen machines take months from being announced to arriving.

The original MacBook Pros didn't ship out for around a month, so I wouldn't get your hopes up receiving one within that week.

Maybe if they were that product that was supposed to be released at WWDC...

Either way, I'd take the chance of living without a brand new MacBook Pro in order to have the latest and greatest. Wouldn't we all?
