Will the current macbook pro 15/17" be able to play it, and what sort of settings do you think it will be able to play it at? Purely speculation of course, but am just interested in some feedback

So Shogun 2 is the new version? Do you happen to know the sequence of the releases for Total War? I think it went something like:
Shogun Total War
Medieval Total War
Rome Total War
Medieval 2 Total War
Empire Total War

Now Shogun 2 Total War?

Well, it's not purely speculation, the system specs have been released and the MBP meets it. You should be good to go on Medium settings at least.
