When shooting video with the iPhone 3GS in a horizontal position (camera lens on left side), the video on the iPhone shows like it is supposed too. But, when you view it on a PC or upload it to You Tube... it doesn't retain the horizontal aspect. Reverts to vertical. What am I doing wrong?

You know, I would like to know people's experiences with this, too. For me it is really hit or miss. Sometimes it remains oriented correctly, sometimes it doesn't...

I had this problem too. I recorded the entire Offspring concert I went to and a few songs in I decided to see if the picture would still be oriented properly if I turned it horizontally because it is MUCH more comfortable to hold the phone like that for an hour and a half lol. Well, it looked right on the screen but when I played it back on the phone, and later my PC, it WASN'T oriented so now I have to try to edit the video. Had I known the I just would've held the phone normally the whole time.

oh come on just tilt your head to the side for an entire concert. it's really fun.

try holding it horizontal for a good ten seconds before beginning to film. I think sometimes is starts shooting before it realizes that it's horizontal, and once shooting begins it won't reorient mid shoot. i've noticed it does this a lot with photos if I'm quick to shoot.

dunno if it'll help, but worth a try

The thing that really sucks that I just figure out. Is if you shoot video vertical and then delete it off the iphone, and sync it from itunes if will show up horizital landscape and wont switch back or rotate. it looks sucky. And you cant sync the video from a folder or from iphoto.Any way to put a video back into the camera roll after you've deleted it.
