Is anyone else noticing battery is draining more swiftly and phone is getting really hot on iOS 15.0? I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max 256gb.

Have you done the "normal" things - check battery under settings to see if it is 1 app using most of the battery and if so - force quit that app and then restart phone before restarting app - then see what happens

It’s egregiously bad in 15 dev beta 4 for me. My 12 Pro Max had to be charged after just 6 hours of screen time today which is half what I was getting when I first got the phone.

battery life shorter on ipad mini - YES but, its not running hot. I guess, its just the way beta software works, still trying to get the best configuration working.

12 pro max running fine here.

This is my 12 Pro Max on DB4. Low brightness (1/5 or so), all use on WiFi, 5G disabled… It’s totally not impressive.

Looks like it might be iCloud or background app refresh draining your battery.

Not using iCloud or background app refresh, currently have 63% battery left 4h39m usage, no dark mode during the day.

Background app refresh is disabled for the majority of my apps and the ones I have enabled are the same ones that were enabled and had no problem with iOS 14.

iCloud only kicks in when the phone is on the charger. I just checked and it hasn’t run since 8/5.

Your phone is doing better than mine with iOS 15 but it’s not doing as good as it would be on iOS 14 unless you never hit the 11-12 hour average I was at. It’s not annoying enough to push me back to iOS 14 but it is a concern if Apple doesn’t start wrangling it in soon because it’s the worst battery drain I’ve seen since I started testing betas with iOS 12.

I always factory reset when the GM drops and switch out of the beta program but I’ve got 26 banking apps I’ll have to set back up so I’m not going to do it before then lol.

I’m also running Dev Beta 4 on my iPhone 1/ Pro Max. While I think overall stability and performance is good, battery life took a hit for me, too. I usually get around 5 hours of screen on time before hitting the 20% mark. This morning I noticed something which I’ve never seen before: according to my battery stats Sidecar has been running in the background for almost 4,5 hours. Sidecar?! I didn’t even know that it’s on iPhone…

Guess this is just a bug but maybe it’s causing the hiccups.

I have discovered at least part of the problem… My phone is reporting the screen off at times when I’m actually using the phone! The whole last hour I was on Tapatalk and my phone says the screen was off.

Also last night around 3AM until 5AM I know I was also on my phone. You can easily tell this by the curve of the battery drain as well. That’s 3 hours unaccounted for which is a not insignificant chunk of battery. That’s also only if we assume the rest of the battery log is accurate.
