It seems like every few days my volume buttons just STOP working for no ****ing reason. I then try to restart my computer, WHICH DOESNT WORK - so I have to do a HARD restart. This happens literally every few days. WHY GOD WHY?

God's spiting you?

What happens if you unplug the keyboard, and then plug it back in? Does that help? And what do you mean it doesn't shut down?

Also, what OS version are you using?

I try to restart my computer through the Apple menu by clicking either:

Restart
Shutdown

Neither do anything when clicked.

Running: OS 10.6.4

I have not tried to unplug and replug in keyboard, I will try that next time it happens.

None of the iTunes keyboard shortcuts work btw not just the volume ones.

More bitching:

Why the mother **** does this ******** occasionally pop up on my email? REALLY ****ING ANNOYING!

This thread needs to turn into all the little short or longtime issues we have on our macs that we have no solution to.

Hopefully we can find solutions to them..

Every year like clockwork, our iMac G5 blows out the power supply. Every year, Apple fixes it for me for free. Until Dec 2009, where Apple said it was the last time they were going to do it. Last July it blew out again. While I would normally be really peeved at that, my wife responded with: "Why not just get a new computer?"

So now I have a mid-2010 i7 iMac on my desk. :D

The problem is I like to donate our older Macs to our local school. I don't trust the G5 to do so, nor am I inclined to spend the $120-140 or so for a new power supply just to give it away.

When I press that button nothing happens. Everything still works fine!
