Great bag, just bought it at Canadian Computer in Oakville.

It fits the Macbook great, plus it has lots of little pockets and zippers, a large main compartment for books, magazines, file folders, papers, lube, wet dogs, whatever you like to lug around with you. The inside is a bright orangey-yellow colour so that any small objects you place in it will be sharply contrasted against it, unless you like carrying almost rotten oranges in your laptop bag. In which case, you'll have more problems to worry about than being able to see it...

I think it was made to fit 15" PB's or 14" ibooks, but it fits the squat, wide MacBook almost perfectly, with just a little wiggle room for when it gains the "spare tire" in it's middle age years. Oh wait... that's me...

Anyway, it feels much more sturdy and reliable than my Bentley small laptop bag I bought out of desperation the day I got my MacBook in Yorkdale. The stitching is solid, the wide and comfortable strap has a removeable shoulder pad, just in case you have to feel the trapezius-wrenching pain of a bare strap.

Most bags will often be plagued with bad stitching and construction these days, because it's the labour of actually making the bags that's expensive, not the fabric of the bags. As I said before, the stitching looks quite solid and if I was still in the army, I would have no problems taking this into the field with me. That is, if the army were a bunch of messenger bag carrying fruits...

In all seriousness, it's a great bag overall, I just wish there was an external zippered pocket for items you like easy access to like an ipod, cellphone, camera. My baggy cargo pockets will have to make do.

If you want pictures, i'll post them. If not, i'm not going to bother.

Great review, but when I see a bag review without pics I tend too look further for more reviews. ;) In other words, if you have pics I bet I'm not the only one who would like to see.

Will do! I'll do a fashion show tomorrow, because i'm all dressed in my pyjamas, nestled into bed. Plus it's dark out, and you probably wouldn't see anything, as the bag I bought is black...

I have the bigger version of this bag for my MPB. Its really a nice bag, I love it. Very good pick up if you need a bag.

I kept looking for the when and how you got embarrassed, but after a quick google I realised that the name of the bag is in fact 'Crumpler — Considerable Embarrassment 15"'. What a strange name. :)

Nice review. I might get one of those. I use an Incase sleeve with room for nothing except the MacBook Pro now, and while it's nice and good quality, it's not practical if I want to bring other stuff.

So do you think I can comfortably fit a Canon PowerShot S3 IS as well as my MBP in it? The Canon is a larger than normal compact cameras, but not as large as DSLR cameras with lenses.

No question, you'll be able to fit your camera and a herd of zebra in there. It's huge. By huge, I mean it will hold lots of things, not that it dwarfs you when it's on. Right now, I have my Macbook, a Novel, Sony headphones for my iPod, my Canon SD400 camera, and there's still plenty of room for at least one thick college textbook, or possibly a severed forearm. (oops, did I say that?)

Sounds great. I have only found Crumpler — Dreadful Embarrassment in Norwegian stores so far, though. It's for 17" laptops as far as I can gather.

Edit: Sheesh, the Crumpler web-site is really, really terrible to navigate and use.

I know this isn't a contest, but My Review of the Sinking Barge is longer. It also has photos of beautiful me and my less-beautiful bag.

Seriously though, I agree that you need photos. People want to see you stuff things into the bag, the bag on your shoulders, etc.

I'm glad I found this site, because it says:
The Considerable Embarrassment Bag
Black/Mid Grey - $79 - in stock
Fits most 15" laptops but does not fit the new 15" MacBook Pro.
Internal dimensions - 13x9.8x1.6"

So, I'll in fact need the Dreadful Embarrassment if I want a Crumpler Embarrassment type bag.

I've had this bag for about a month (use it for a 12" powerbook). I'd have to say it's absolutely fantastic. Very comfortable and built to last. I'm guessing it's called the Considerable Embarrassment because of the noise the velcro makes when you open your bag in a quiet place :D!

I'm starting to be a big fan of crumpler stuff. Along with this I've a School Hymn Sleve for my powerbook as well as a John Thursday bag for my nintendo DS. Both look as good as the day I got them (over a year old now). The crumpler webpage also cracks me up. I love it and I love it even more when people don't get it.

Are the Crumpler bags available on another site? (hopefully one that will actually load on my computer ;) ) I really like the look of them, but I can't get anything other than the School Hymn to load.

I did this search on google, maybe one of them will load for you... try upgrading your flashplayer, that may help.

Oh, and I've been helping my mother in law do her front walkway today, so i'll make sure to take some pictures once i've cleaned myself up.

Peas out.

Haha in fact, I can top this fellow with the "longer" review! i have a VIDEO I hired a model and everything!

Go here for the pictures and here for the video

thanks for the nice review purelithium, i've been considering either this bag or the timbuk2 commute for my new macbook.

Do you feel life the computer is safe in the sleeve if you were to, say, run for the bus or something?

(also the severed arm thing was hilarious):)

I think you'd be ok, there's a good amount of padding around the laptop compartment. Although, I'd never want to step in front of the bus, but I think a laptop would be ok slapping against a fat guy's heaving belly as he's running futilely to catch a bus. Oh wait, that's me too.
