Hi All,

I have a couple of personal automations that run when I arrive either at work or home. Annoyingly I get notifications when they run. If I understand some older articles this was/is a safety feature so that I know automations are running. Is there a way to turn them off in iOs 18?

In this article (https://www.idownloadblog.com/2022/02/01/run-shortcuts-automations-without-notifications-tutorial/ ) there seems to be a slider below run immediately but I do not have that slider in iOS 18.

Is there a way not to get notifications from the shortcuts app? I can't find any way to turn them off but I could just be incredibly dense.

Thanks,
Philly

Can't turn off Notifications for location based, Bluetooth (and wifi?) [dis]connnect Automations. Home Automation as well maybe. I use location and Bluetooth ones so sure about those two. All my time and Focus based Automations have the Notification switch set to "no", so no Notifications from them.

thank you NoBoMac for confirming my suspicions. If I'd been clever I would have tested my theory how you did it.

Ah well, I prefer a company that cares about privacy and safety even if it can be a tad annoying.

Settings > Screen Time > See All App & Website Activity > scroll all the way down to Notifications > find Shortcuts (you may need to go back a week and then forward again to make “Shortcuts” tappable > turn off Allow Notifications

thank you not quite sure why they make this so hard. But your instructions were spot on.

Good to know! Never used Screen Time so never knew that was there (and don't think I'll enable just for that).

One item of note… at least on 18.1, this setting has been turning itself back on after restating the phone. It may be best to periodically check and make sure it’s off after each restart. Frustrating.

Yes I noticed it turned itself back on but in my case shortcuts submenu doeesn't even have menu where I can turn on/off. I'll investigate in the coming days and report back. But thanks again, at least I'm not completely crazy,

Did some Google-fu and looks like option returns to default/on anytime you restart your device. Couple of sites state this and an older thread on MR.
