I had my Apple Studio Display calibrated and have two presets; one for sunrise to sunset and one for sunset to sunrise.

I would like to create a Shortcut that automatically changes the profiles at sunrise and sunset but cannot figure out how to do this.

Would appreciate assistance / guidance on creating this shortcut.

Thank you.

Not sure about profile switching as I don't use and have not looked at that in Shortcuts, but a big issue is that there is no Automations function in MacOS Shortcuts ala i*OS versions.

Some 3rd party apps, freeware in software repositories, that can fetch sunrise/sunset and then schedule a run of something. But usually means other software pieces need to be downloaded, built(?), installed.

In the case of Shortcuts, can run it via a shell/command line: shortcuts run "nameofshortcuthere". So in theory can have the Shortcut run via a launchd config/file but need something to generate a new control file daily via some 3rd party solution and unload and load old and new control file respectively.

Along the lines of launchd, can setup a config to run a Shortcut every minute, five, ten(?) to get weather forecast, get sun set/rise, if current time after those value change profile accordingly.

@NoBoMac appreciated but unfortunately a little over my skillset. It is on my bucket list to get better at programming but as of now I am limited to VB.net.

@bogdanw appreciated. I will reach out and report back on Lunar. It may be exactly what I am looking for.

I heard back from the author of Lunar noting Lunar cannot presently change presets at defined times.

I heard back from the author of Display Buddy that the ability to change presets at defined times is in the process of being incorporated.

I hope this helps others.
