Help a dummy here....

I use my mobile as a business phone and speak to a lot of people via text messaging. Is there a way that while typing or someway that whenever someone wants the business address that I could create a shortcut to populate the full address so that I can easily just send it to them?

Text messaging does remember the address from the menu above the keyboard as your typing but it does it for everything except for digits.

I was hoping I could create a shortcut to my business address.

Ideas?

Dont need to mess about with shortcuts for that, use the keyboard shortcuts option. For example i have it setup that any time i need to type my email address i just type @@ and it will enter my email address.

Its under Settings > General > Text Replacement where you can add a whole host of entries for things. You could potentially just set it so you type something like BusAdd and as soon as you press the space key it will swap it to your full business address.

Thank you for that and that works fantastic!

However in order to be very clear with my clients whenever I text them I do try to be precise. I never use miss-spellings such as OMG, etc.

It appears in the text replacement it doesn’t allow for proper line shifts.

I’m only able to get address replacements like this when using this method:

Business Name 1234 Smith Street Anycity, Florida 12345

Instead of a more proper address structure like this:

Business Name
1234 Smith Street
Anycity, Florida 12345

Another alternative is to use a clipboard manager app such as Copied, and save your more commonly text snippets inside. You can then insert then via the third party keyboard as and when you need.

FYI, if you're on a Mac, and you use iCloud to sync your Mac with your iPhone, you can create the snippet on the Mac, with line breaks, and it will be preserved even on the iOS device :)

Preferences >> Keyboard >> Text [tab]

When you post it in, it kind of looks like a single line due to the UI, but the line breaks will be there as expected.

I use KuaiBoard keyboard for that. It works great for many things. I put those in the Contacts section. I did this example to show here:

Acme Corporation
555 Somewhere St.
Anywhere, MyState 55555

Just one tap and the complete name/address shows as you desire.

I like the dynamic time formats. Create your own formats.

Thank you guys/gals!

I’m going to give the most native ones a shot and see how it goes. If those don’t work out then I’ll move onto some apps.

I’ve been needing something like this for a long time and didn’t reach out. I can already see a lot of time gained back for me.

How do you create the line breaks? After each line I would hit ENTER and it would finalize the text replacement.

Oh yeah, so you'll want to create the block of text outside the input field for the text shortcut. Anything really, a text editor, a word proc, heck, even in a draft email, just need text + line breaks to paste in.

For that matter even a browser, here’s your address block above:

... did this right from my phone after creating the shortcut on my Mac

So what happens when I enter @TTt the line just above the keyboard (in iOS), shows the suggestion (which is a text shortcut).

And of course, now it's also present on my mac:
