I was going to get an additional 500gb HD and 2gb of RAM, but if i was to order it with just the 250gb and 4gb of RAM is there another place other than apple i can get additional hard drives from,as apples do seem expensive, any savings made on the hard drives can go towards extra RAM and CS3.
apart from the 250gb HD it will arrive with i want to add at least 2x500gb and either another 500gb or 750gb and to buy from apple i will have to get a part time job blagging banks.
Also which speakers are good for music? i'm not a gamer so it would be 99% music, and the odd video also which headphones do you guys prefer. ;)

ps, is it my imagination, after checking out the macs in my local apple store, OS X makes windows seem like an unfinished project, the way it looks, files tree's and so on look like someone nearly finished and went home instead, i can't wait to change, but it's so hard when there are a few Nikon Lenses you want too :D

Hi ZexeZ,

Alot of people are happy with the Harman/Kardon soundsticks (including me) which also come with a powerful sub-woofer. I think they offer good value, great sound and beautiful design.

Check out Klipsch too!

Many in the USA will also recommend newegg.com or OWC.com for S-ATA harddrives.

Enjoy your Mac Pro!

EDIT: noticed you were in the UK, try ebuyer or scan.co.uk

Rich.

The hard drive bays in the Mac Pro are made for user installation. So don't pay a premium for somebody siding a drawer out for you.

Was looking at these speakers myself:

Amazing reviews:

Bunch of reviews listed here:

I've chosen to route my sound through another amp/speaker setup I have but if I was buying speakers for my desktop now I'd get the audio engines without a doubt.

Also, everybody says don't buy RAM from Apple, anywhere but Apple. But Mac Pro fully buffered RAM is currently hard to get hold of (if at all possible?) especially in the UK.
