So i just got a refurb MBP and usually connect it to my Dell display. However i noticed that whenever i wake the MBP from sleep the screen has some garbled image and the MBP takes a while to wake up. If it had an integrated graphics chip i wouldnt be surprised and would surmise that the card is struggling. But this however is discrete and a strong one at that.

Soo i'm quite stomped. Any ideas?

Here's a screenshot by the way:

Hmm does this happen on both the Dell display and MBP panel? I don't think a problem like that has anything to do with the video chip's speed... hmm, the only thing I can think of is some kind of memory corruption, try installing WindowsXP on it or try a different user /os reinstall...

Happens in XP as well although only for a split second and the issue only happens with the dell display, i guess the DVI output is flaky
