This morning I booted up my mac like any other morning, but this morning it just loaded up with a white/grey screen and stayed there. No Apple logo whatsoever. So ok, I thought restarting it would do, no. So i unplugged anything into the mac apart from the keyboard and mouse. Booted it up and it worked, loaded up Leopard. Now should I be worried about this? If it happens again when I boot up tonight?

it hasn;t happened to my iMac but it has happened to my MB. and I did the same thing you did with the addition of removing the battery. It has happened only 2x in the more than 2yrs that I've had my MB. so if you can live with that, it shouldn;t be a cause for worry. but if it happens more often, you may want to have it checked.
Since you said it did not boot fine with all of your peripherals plugged in but did boot fine without the peripherals plugged in I would see if that is always the case. That it only has problems booting with a peripheral plugged in.
You could then try booting with all devices plugged in in verbose mode. Then you will get a text mode boot up and see where you Mac is hanging up. Hold down the
+ v keys as soon as you hear the startup chime or before and until you start seeing a black screen with text flying by. It could just simply be a bad driver that needs to be reinstalled.

Yeah, I just came home from school. Booted it up, and same problem. But if i do the above which is only keep the 2 main USBs in, it boots up fine. Its very strange, I try the PRAM and SMC.
Then I would say the problem is driver or communication related with one of the peripherals. Since I think you are saying that with just a keyboard and mouse plugged in.
Try pressing (command + v) while booting to boot into verbose mode. Maybe you will see were it is hanging at. Also try booting by attaching one of the devices at a time until it hangs up to locate the culprit.
Also are you using a USB hub those can cause problems occasionally.
Yes Its the USB hub, I just unplugged a few items from it and seems to boot up fine at the moment. Will look more further into it tomorrow I guess.
