Should I buy a 16 inch MacBook Pro or wait?

I currently own a 15 inch mid 2012 MacBook Pro with 2.6 quad core i7, 16gb of ram and the dedicated video card of the time.

I plan to upgrade this year to a 16 inch, but I don’t know if I should wait for Apple to update the 16 inch or just buy the machine now. I plan to max out the processor, video card and Ram.


Any thoughts?

well you've waited 8 years already - what's prompting the need for the new machine? What do you do with the current one that you see the new one doing better?
I always thing that you shouldn't try too hard to time a purchase like this. Next year's machine is always just around the corner, but you have to get a new one eventually. Let your needs drive the purchase, not timing the market.
They seem to be updating the 15/16 every 12 months, but i would say this current version is pretty sweet. So if you have to get it now, don't look back. It's a great purchase.

I have been considering it for a while now since my current machine is slowing down considerably even loading multiple chrome tabs becomes a task at times. Also my work tasks are starting to get the better of my current machine. I do very heavy graphic and cpu intensive tasks between image and video processing, plus graphical design.
