Greetings,

I'm thinking of buying a Mac pro server. But I don't understand why the server is several hundred bucks more expensive than the standard model even if I choose the same hardware (actually, the server even doesn't come with keyboard and mouse). Should I buy the server or just standard model and install Lion server myself? Thanks!

Well the server comes with extra ram and an additional hard drive hence the extra cost. But why not upgrade the base model that comes with the mouse and keyboard?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, indeed I added the RAM and 2nd HDD to the base model, but it was still several hundred bucks cheaper than the server. I am wondering if there is anything or service that I missed that comes with the server.

If you need it badly, and don't mind to buy 2 year old hardware , go ahead !
