I have been waiting for the release of the 10th anniversary iPhone since I heard rumors of its creation. I have saved my upgrade for my 6s plus so that I could get it. However, after reading several MacRumors posts about the Burn-Ins on the screen, the glass being extremely fragile, and my overall dissatisfaction with how it's formatted, I'm not sure I want to buy it. As of right now, the 8 Plus is looking really good, but it still has the fragile glass back. I love the fact that the new phones have wireless charging; however, I hate that they are all so vulnerable to breaking, and with the price of the back glass repairs, I'm feeling nervous. If anyone else has any information that could be helpful in my decision making that would be great.

ultimately it has to be your choice. it will be a biased vote from me. coming from an iPhone 6, it's something new and shinny. i was long overdue and the speed alone is amazing. it looks great, it feels great, it's fast and the battery is awesome. i love it.

Try to read too deep into everything on a tech site. You have to remember that every part and everything wrong is always dissected and discussed on a website like this. You should buy what you want and enjoy it for what it is. If something goes wrong, that's what warranties and exchanges are for.

Yes, you won't be sorry.

I buy a new iPhone/iPhone+ every year.

I'm 6'5", 325 lbs so I'm not exactly on the small side. The iPhone X is the best phone I've ever had.

I have used it non-stop since getting it Friday and I haven't seen any of the screen burn.

There is a small, thin plastic case on it. I've dropped it twice and not a single problem.

In my opinion run, don't walk and get the phone off the future.

Yes get it and also get Applecare+ and a case. Leather is nice.

I had a 7 and it was a great phone with nice stereo speakers, but the screen resolution was very bland. The X I have is great. The stereo speakers are about 25% louder than the 7, and the screen is fantastic. Face ID is great. Having a button is old technology. You won't go wrong with the X. I put the Apple leather case on mine ( 3rd phone with it ) and it feels great. You can try it for a couple of weeks and return it if you don't like it. Good luck. Move into the future.

Get it with AppleCare+ and/or a case if you’re really anxious about it.

It’s a huge difference from 6/s. there are millions of glass phones out there. Just try and be more careful. How often do you drop things?

I drop my current phone pretty often, but I have never cracked a phone's screen

Yes you should, it's an amazing phone and even though I like how the 8+ displays pictures quite a big bigger, the new form factor just feels more scifi and modern! And the tele lens stabilization really helps for portrait and low light.

Loving mine so far. I was one of the ones who said I️ wasn’t going to get it and keep my 8 plus. I️ ended up getting one anyways. At first I was shocked by the size. But after a minute or two I️ dig the size. Much easier to hold one hand. Screen is nice. Build is awesome.
I️ have zero regrets on swapping my 8 plus.

I LOVE my iPhone X even though I've had to swap a few over for different issues (Apple's service is stellar). However if you don't like the form factor you probably shouldn't get one. They're expensive!!! However I think all iPhones will look like this soon enough- but they'll get cheaper. If you're so concerned at least wait and see what happens with burn in. Rumour is that Apple will eventually switch to Micro LED which won't have burn in of OLED. And next year a more bezel-less LCD version coming (maybe a plus size though - I prefer the smaller form factor of the X)

Update: I got an iPhone X a few days ago and I love it! I survived for a couple of days without a case due to it being ordered so close to Christmas, but everything went smoothly. I am extremely glad that I did not go for the iPhone 8 Plus. My mom and brother both got one and I feel if I had gotten one too I would have been extremely disappointed with the features that are unavailable on it. Using FaceID took no time to master, and I don't miss the home button at all! The only thing I don't like is how good the selfie camera is! It makes me look fifteen times worse than my 6s plus did, but that's a personal issue lol. Thank you for all the advice and stories that you posted on my thread. It really helped me in making my decision.

I bought the X knowing that the 2nd generation iPhone X form/model will be better. I don’t regret it, but I do plan to upgrade next year for sure for the iPhone X phone that’s been polished
