So I am a new mac user and I love it! I have the option to buy an iPhone right now (my contract is up and I have some money available) but I was wondering if a new version of the phone is expected soon or is it worth it to buy the existing iPhone? Any insight from current users would be appreciated. Thanx

if you're happy with what the phone currently offers, i say buy it and don't look back. it's by far the best phone i've ever owned, and i can't imagine owning any other phone.

i would buy one now if your contract is up. I think it will be awhile until we see the next genaration iphone. So if you want one get one. I love mine and the big diferance between this phone and all the other phones I owned is that I use this phone all the time and most of the time not as a phone . Imean here it is almost 11:00pm and I am lying in bed typing out this message, waching an episode of rescue me and watching some you tube. Awesome!!:D:D:D

Wirelessly posted (Apple Communication Device: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1C28 Safari/419.3)

Man that was easy. This place is better than that magic 8 ball.

Thats a good point, as long as you dont mind the lacking features, even the ones that we will hopefully see in the near future, then i would definatly go for it. Its the best phone ive ever had or used. It makes using regular phones hard. :D

I have a problem with the lack of 3G and weird battery replacement issues...besides that I think the interface and built in features is wonderful...If you are okay without having the faster wireless then I see the iPhone as the best phone on the market for quite a while....

Personally I would wait for a second generation iPhone. Once Nokia and others begin to release competitors, and as the price of flash memory continues its inevitable decline, Apple will HAVE to up the ante. The end result will be a much better iPhone for a much cheaper price.

ya and when that happens I will sell this iPhone and go buy the new one but inthe mean time I know what every other iPhone owner knows. I have one and everyone else wants one( no matter what they say).

This is the best way to go. I would wait for competing products to enter the market at better(i.e. somewhat LOWER) prices and see how Apple takes it from there. Besides, the second generation will have worked out most of the quirks from the initial release.

But who knows when the second generation of iPhone's will come out?

If i've learnt anything in regards to Apple products, it's that you should purchase the items asap and not wait for new revisions to come up. They could be ages. If that was the case i'd still be waiting for Santa Rosa/Leopard on my MacBook. Luckily i took the plunge, and its been an absolute pleasurable three months with the OS X.

Dont wait on Apple products....life isnt worth living without them :p
