Should I buy iMac 20"

Hi, I just want to be specific, is it the good moment to buy ?
Since I've heard about the monitor issue.

Any good news ?

Actually i'm a bit scared to buy iMac 20" since the bad news about monitor and colors appear..... how is it now ?
 
i have a 20 inch imac, its great the colors are beautiful. when i heard about the monitor thing i was like what the hell ? but yeah the imac is a great machine well worth the money i spent.
 
I have a 20" and the colors on it are fine, and if you have a problem take it to the Apple store, and have them look at it. I'm having an issue with my 20", where the top left corner of the screen is kinda cloudy (can only see it on a dark background) but I'm going to take it in and I'm confident that the genius will take care of it. Otherwise I'm happy with my iMac, and it's a great computer. The only other issue that I could say affect the 20" iMacs, is that they aren't color completely accurate, but that affects all glossy displays. Also, that shouldn't affect you unless you're a graphic artist or photographer (your fine for home photos).

Put the file in --->Library--->ColorSync--->Profiles--->Displays.
Then go to System Preferences---->Displays and select the profile named: "Seems Good 2".

When i've tried to survey at the store (its not applestore its just and apple authorized distribution store) yes the color looks okay and its just the TN behaviours.

Hey, I applied it to my screen. The colors look a little more dull but more saturated, and a little more yellow, I think. I had calibrated it before, but now I'm not sure which calibration I should set it to.

How can you tell which one is better calibrated?

It's probably a personal preference thing as opposed to a which is better thing.
 
Yes! I actually just got my first Mac on Sunday. I got the 20" iMac with 2.4 GHz and I'm in Apple love! Definatly worth it, also make sure you get AppleCare, because it's totally worth it.

I've had my 20", 2.4 Ghz for 3 weeks, couldn't be happier with it... As with anything mechanical, there are going to be problems, if you want one get it.

I think he just picked a poor choice of words to describe what he meant. Basically I think all he is trying to say is that since it is a new piece of electronic equipment it is hard to say for sure if the iMac you receive will be a perfect system or not.

If you are that nervious then you may want to get Applecare. That way if anything does happen in your first 3 years with the computer Apple will be able to assist you with the repairs.
