Should I spend my cash on IPhone X from a 32gb IPhone 7? Or instead buy IPhone 8 and update my IPad Air 2 to a Pro and spend the money that way?

Ok why would it be a better update will I notice big changes over the Air 2?

Might be a while before face ID comes to iPad anyway.
[doublepost=1505251372][/doublepost]I tend to keep my iPad longer than IPhone so the iPad might be better value long term.

Better value for money.

But really, you need to specify a use case in order to get a clearer answer :D

Yes big changes with pro. For example comparing pro 10.5 vs air 2

Pro has A10X and air 2 has A8X which means pro will be faster than air 2

Pro has 12 mp for rear cam, 7 mp for front cam and air 2 has 8 for rear, 1.2 mp for front cam which makes pro a better choice.

Pro supports 4k video and HDR

Pro has 4gb ram and air 2 has 2gb ram

Pro has true tone tech which is awesome IMO.

And most importantly pro supports ipencil.

IMO your best choice would be pro and iphone 8 .

Only minor difference between 7 and 8. I dont see a life-altering difference in the X that makes me NEED it. Your opinion may vary.

I don’t currently own an iPad, running a 2010 MacBook Pro. I’m hoping the 2018 iPad Pro comes out with OLED and other goodness. Will be buying that instead of this year’s model IPP. Hard pass on this round of phones.

lol I'm about to sell my 12.9 Pro for the iPhone X!

That phone is beautiful....

I will be keeping my 6S Plus & upgrading to an iPad Pro. I use my phone lightly but use the iPad extensively. Plus my son will get my Air 2 :)

Absolutely no good reason to upgrade from the iPhone 7 at the moment. The X will not really improve your experience in any relevant way. I would wait a generation or two for that design to mature, hopefully with Apple bringing back Touch ID and making the phone a bit better looking.

That said, the Air 2 is still a really good device. Unless you want to use the Pencil or want the 12.9 model I would not upgrade that either.

I could buy the 2017 cheaper iPad as it has faster chip too as my current iPad has small dent so keen to get a new one of some sort.

In this case, just upgrade the iPad, then save up a bit more and then get the iPhone X

I don't see why you have to upgrade all at once, which is what your choices are implying

Keep you current iPhone 7 unless 32gb is not enough for your needs (use cloud account instead perhaps?). It's a fantastic phone and it will continue to be for several more years yet.

Buy an iPad Pro and sell your current Air 2 to recoup some of the costs. And sell it before iOS 11 is released!

Buy iphone 8 and update air 2 to a pro

Excellent. I came here with this exact question and I've seen enough to feel really good about my purchase.

I'm passing on the X... and instead upgrading my 128GB 6s Plus to the 256GB 8 Plus and upgrading my Air 2 to the 12.9 256GB iPad Pro LTE.

Can't wait. :)

I went for IPhone 8 rather than X but going to wait a few months and save for the Pro. It might be out my price range but will see.

Update I bought the iPad Pro arrives today.

Better value than the X.

I think so too, for the moment. The iPhone X2 (assuming they keep this new model around for good) is going to be one impressive phone once Apple works out all the first revision hardware problems/FaceID and apps adjust to things like the top notch.

Yes I bought the Pro aswell as I don't see Apple going OLED next year I think the Pro has enough ram and features to last a few years.
