Hi guys,

Im planning to get M1 MBA now in August 2021, so i was wondering, should i wait or buy right away?

I saw rumors that indicates next MBA would be released next year, which quite awhile. Or could it be available this year?

How urgent is this purchase? Currently i don't own a computer. im using office laptop for my work and even some of my personal stuff. Which is not good. Haha. But recently ive received some payments and i figured, i can finally own personal computer.

You can always consult the macrumors buying guide:

If you can live without it, wait for the next revision. If you need a computer now, the M1 MBa will be a solid rig for a long time.

There’s always a newer model coming now matter what you do, so don’t get caught up in that head game.

Just get one, right now, you won't be sorry. I know I'm not ?

Sure, you can wait for something 'better', but, there will always be something 'better', just around the corner ;)

In case you're wondering, 8GB RAM will be enough for all your everyday tasks, and then some. Trust me. The only other thing to consider is internal storage. I went for 256GB and got a Samsung T7 SSD 2TB. Yes, it is external, but it is extremely small and light, and a whole lot cheaper than the equivalent internal storage.

Go ahead and buy the Air. The M1 Air is an excellent laptop. Later on when the new Air is launched, if you like the new one, you could always sell this and go for the newer one. Next year, the Air could come in multiple colours.

Unlikely there'll be a refresh of the Airs this year imo so unless you can wait possibly 12 months for a new machine, then yeah, go for it now.
