Should I buy the new 2011 iMac?

Hi everyone, I was planning on buying the new 2011 iMac. Specifically I was going to purchase the 21.5 inch 2.7 GHz iMac. I have a budget of around ~$1700, $2000 max and I was wondering if I should go ahead and purchase it this month or should I wait till the release of Lion OSX or the next time they redesign the hardware which I have no idea when that will happen? I don't need one right away, I can wait if necessary, I just wanted to replace my 5 year old Dell desktop.

Alright that's what I was thinking. I just wasn't sure if there was going to be anything big happening with them in June or September.
 
Traditionally MacOS's are pitched to the Market at around £25.00 which is nothing, so to wait for Lion would be a bit silly.
The iMac has only just been upgraded, so again nothing will be happening to the range until at least spring next year and even then it will probably be processor upgrades.
So the question is if you specifically need a Mac then if the current model does everything you need, then why wait? :rolleyes:

you can get one for 500 bucks on eBay.
 
Is 2011 model better or worse than 2015 retina display imac ? I am wondering..

Well I have a 2011 iMac which is easy to open up and expand. The 2015 not so much IMO. I can install an off the shelf SSD into the 2011 if it comes with a spinner but can't do that in the 2015. I can get a 2011 21.5" from eBay for 500 bucks but a fully loaded 2015 27" is north of 3 grand.
