Should I cancel my order then order it again?

I placed my order on Nov 9, the ETA was DEC 11 - 18 but then bumped to DEC 8 - 15. It's ridiculous that if I place a new order now (Nov 23) the ETA would be only 1 - 2 weeks later which is sooner than the ETA of my current order. Should I cancel my order and then order it again?

An eta is what it says. Just estimated.
I bet you will get it sooner than if you were to order today.
Just relax and be patient.

I would not cancel your current order and order a new one. You will still get the Dec 8 - 15 date. Just saying.

It is a little disconcerting though when people are posting that they ordered a week or two after you and already have their device. I’ve been contemplating doing the same thing, but decided against it. If it now only takes 1-2 weeks to get an iPhone X, what about those who ordered 2 weeks ago? It’s super hard to be patient when you want it sooo bad!! Lol

Updated Nov 26: I did NOT cancel my order and it has been shipped today. ETA now is Dec 1!

Our local Apple store had most of the IPhone X models in stock. Must have also been in quantity as they were still showing stock hours after opening.

I walked in my Apple Store (Perimeter Mall - Atlanta) and walked out with a 256 Space Grey X
Just happened to be out and stopped by and picked one up no problem

Just wait - most orders ship sooner than advertised anyway. My day one order was a week early.

On Saturday I decided that if my local apple store had them available for local pickup, I would get the X, if not I would wait for the next version of the phone. I purchased a 256 Space Gray AT&T phone, and had it in my hand 2 hours later.

For other people than the OP that are thinking of ordering a phone, now is the time to check local stores for pickup.

How about Best Buy? Order today and get it by the 8th delivered/pickup.

Is this with a carrier?
If so, just a note, if you cancel you might not be able to turn around and re-order it immediately.
I tried that last year with ATT (i ordered the wrong size) and it took 24 hours for Apple/ATT systems to sync to make my ATT account eligible for an upgrade.

Why wouldn't you just place a 2nd order and cancel which ever one doesn't ship?

The OP has already got a ship date of Dec 1st.

The only reason I posted was to inform others that it was very easy to order for same day pickup, if others are in the same situation.

You might get it sooner then the 1st. Mine shipped out Saturday and had a date for Wednesday. Now it updated and said it will be at my house tomorrow. I ordered 2.
