I recently ordered an Apple Watch Series 3 JUST because I like the idea of having cellular on my Apple Watch (I have the very first Apple Watch right now) My series 3 is supposed to be delivered sometime in the middle of October.
I've been noticing that a lot of AT&T customers are having issues activating cellular on their new Apple Watches. Do you think these issues will be fixed by the time my watch is delivered, or should I just go ahead and cancel the order until further notice? I really don't want to go through the headache of activating cellular on my watch if AT&T is still experiencing issues.

They've already rectified many of the problems that occurred at launch, most of which seemed to be training issues within ATT customer support. Just confirm that your data plan is supported to add the $10 wearable and you'll be all set.

The Series 3 is a huge improvement over the initial release in every way. You will be glad you upgraded.

It’s potluck to be honest. In the UK it seems that the forums are full of people having problems connecting to EE but my watch installed without a hitch.
You could always return it if you don’t like it but believe me going to a Series 3 is a world of difference from the earlier releases

to piggyback on the other people, although a lot of people on the forums were having issues activating, mine activated on AT&T without a hitch. It really depends on your AT&T account it seems. Most people who had no issues were on newer plans and on multi-line plans.

I don't think you will have any issues, but even if you can't use cellular the Series 3 is a big improvement and is worth it in my opinion. I have the original Apple Watch, tried Series 2 and didn't notice a big enough difference to keep it, but Series 3 is miles ahead with apps opening quickly (native apps especially) and Siri actually being usable.
