Hey everyone, long story short.
Before I plug it in and start over, I have some questions.
Do you think it was simply a hardware problem or due to a software problem?
Should I delete my .ipsw file, as one friend suggested, and let itunes download a new one?
There are four other files in the Software Updates folder alongside the .ipsw file, is this normal?
I've lost my iPhone USB cable and I'm using my old iPod touch's cable. Could this have been causing the previous problem?
Any other advice or tips welcome.
It's my sister's wedding tomorrow and I'm Twitpic'ing the photos back to my grandfather's care home and the staff are gonna show him them. If it goes wrong he'd be heartbroken.
Thanks all!
(Any more info needed, let me know)
- I bought an iPhone 3g.
- All latest iTunes, etc.
- It's totally legit with no jailbreaking, etc.
- It worked fine, until part of screen broke one day.
- The store replaced the iphone.
- Replacement worked fine for four days.
- When I turned it off and on one day it said: "Restore needed"
- The restore simply brought up the 1013 error
- It was sent for repair - returned as No fault found
- I connected to itunes, it activated fine.
- As soon as I turned it off and back on again it was back to the "Restore needed" and the whole thing began again.
