Still using Catalina in my late 2015 MacBook Air. Wondering if I should load Big Sur now or wait until after 11.2 is released. Opinions appreciated.

Just don't want to wait and be forced into a "clean install". Never done that before, and too old to start now!
You won't be forced into a clean install. You can do an upgrade install of Big Sur from as far back as El Capitan.
If you use a wired keyboard or trackpad, you shouldn't have any Bluetooth disconnect issues. If you use a wireless keyboard, tradpad or mouse, it is probably better to wait until 11.2 is released, as that has reportedly fixed the Bluetooth disconnect problems many have been having.
