I have not exchanged an iPad for a dead pixel, but I did exchange a MacBook once. It didn't seem like there was a policy in place. I think that if the pixel is in the middle of the screen as opposed to somewhere not as noticeable you are more likely to get it exchanged. I think that you will probably get a replacement no matter what if you explain that you are not satisfied.
I would/Have. The whole process took about 5 mins they didnt even blink an eye or check it. I heard someone say that they are supposed to return it quickly and quietly.
Yep it took me 3 tries until I got a ipad without a dead pixel, and the apple store had no problem unboxing new ones to fit my needs. Very good customer service IMO.
No. I've tried 3, and all have had at least 2 stuck pixels. I'm super picky about these things but decided to quit exchanging when I got one with 2 stuck pixels at the edges of the screen. Unless yours is in the middle of the screen, I would keep it. You may regret it.
Yea, i have two stuck pixels, a little black light bleeding, and my mic stopped working for a while... but its working again so idk what happened with that.
But my store doesn't have any in stock so i'm gonna have to wait
You WOULD mention this wouldn't you!!!! I haven't really looked for dead pixels as I've been so engrossed in ... well everything that the ipad does so well. Trouble is I bought it off ebay in the UK from someone who brought it back from their holiday. It was new and sealed. But if it had a dead pixel the Apple Store might not be so sympathetic - or would they just shrug it off and replace.
The only dead pixel I ever had on an LCD was on a cheap Laptop from PC World. As it was a Windoze machine the pixel was the least of my worries! I've never had this problem with an Apple product (dozens). But if my ipad had one it would have to go back.
I'm waiting till next month before I go to the apple store to exchange my iPad with a deal pixel. It annoys me when when I change pages, my eyes can see that shiny pixel in the lower left (its black but when changing angles, you can see colors) and I keep trying to clean that specific spot knowing full well that it's a deal pixel.
