Should I get a tablet with my usage?

I'm debating whether I should get a tablet my supermarket is selling for £130/$200. If you live in the UK, it's called the Hudl 2.
I watch a lot of movies and while my 5.5' phablet has a nice screen, this tablet has a 8.3' screen which looks really nice when I played with it in the store.
I also read a lot of ebooks. Only one of my classes let me read my phone in their class and imo, I only see her twice a month. However we are allowed to read on our tablets and erasers. Also, the bigger screen would be better.
My third point is battery life. My phone's battery lasts me all day. So that's why I might not get this tablet.

So with this, is a tablet good for my usage? Or isn't it? I've still got a month till my birthday (ugh my birthdays on Christmas, sigh ) and I do like it. It does run near stock android and has a 8.3' full HD screen. What do you think?

If you watch a lot then maybe its worth it. I have a Nexus 7 and a 4.7" HTC One and I find I use my phone a lot more, so much more that its difficult to see my self buying another tablet. :|

I thought I would end up using my tablet a lot more but for bigger things I grab my laptop. I think is because I like resting it on my legs while I'm on the couch and I find tablets even with a case flimsy for that.

Everyone is going to have different use cases and preferences. You won't really know until you get it.

I just did a quick google search into the Hudl 2, and I'd say for that price, you'd be picking up a pretty decent tablet. It's very comparable to my Nexus 7, and with the slightly larger screen, this'll be nice to watch videos on. And that resolution works pretty well for reading ebooks. The text won't be as sharp as your phone, but it'll still look pretty darn good

Whether its a birthday present (which is what it feels like) or you plan on purchasing it yourself, I feel comfortable suggesting that you pull the trigger and try to get it.

Since getting my iPad mini, I try to avoid hard copy books as much as I can. It's so convenient having my library in the pocket of my suit jacket with me wherever I go.
