Should I get FieldRunners HD & Asphalt 5 HD (I already got NFS Shift for iPad) or are they just ok? I've seen videos of them on the iPad and they look like games I would like. I had FieldRunners on my Itouch, although I could never make it past the first level lol.

Anyway, any gaming advice? I like most gaming genre except I'm not that into sports.

I'd go for Field Runners and Real Racing. I have both on my iphone and have spent hours with each of them, especially Field Runners. FR was one of my first iPad purchases. I have a 5 hour flight coming up and can't wait!

Real racing is way better for the extra couple bucks and I'd say the same for plant vs zombies over field runners.

Thanks for the replies so far! :) does Real Racing HD have Internet multiplayer or is just local wifi? Does any iPad racing game have online multiplayer?

Real Racing HD is pretty awesome. Nice looking tracks and a smooth frame rate. Still getting used to the controls but there are some adjustments you can make. I don't know if the WiFi is local only, I would guess yes, since I think the latency in a racing game would be too high otherwise. You can race 6 players over WiFi but only 2 using Bluetooth.

Real Racing has online leagues, i haven't figured out though if your actually racing against other people live or if its a ghost of their car during their race in which they recorded that time.

I got FieldRunners HD which I like a lot, Let's Golf Hd which is fun and Asphalt 5 HD which I actually played MORE than NFS Shift for iPad! What a blast it is playing Asphalt! While it may not have the graphics of Real Racing or NFS Shift, it is Effin FUN!

I def recommend Asphalt 5 HD even if you aren't into racing games.

I like real racing for the screen leveling when u turn the iPad the video stays level instead o f turning with it!

Here's a couple of nice posts on iPad games that were previously released on the iPhone/iPod touch. They have a few opinions on some of the iPad translations.

Upgrade Not Recommended
Fieldrunners for iPad ($7.99)
iPad Features: None
Without new features, it's hard to recommend upgrading this one, even though the larger screen size makes it feel nice. But here's a tip: you can play with the same size/perspective using the pixel doubled version.

Upgrade Recommended
Real Racing HD ($9.99)
iPad Features: Apply images to your car, ghost racing and new controls
As mentioned, something about these high quality racing games just pop on the iPad. Real Racing is more of a sim-racer than Shift. Depending on your taste in racing games, you should pick up this one or Need for Speed.

That don't matter to me! I have my own brain and my own opinion. I'm glad I got Fieldrunners HD :)

I don't think you should get either one. But, guess what, it doesn't matter what I think. It only matters what YOU think. It's your money!

That's right Mark :)

I got the games already and love them. If I didn't have the usual monthly bills, food etc, I would have bought loads more of apps lol. Gotta set aside a bit of $ for the app store now.

Just saw a post on another forum from one of the devs of Fieldrunners HD,

"Hi Folks,

Just wanted to express that we are, and have been, working on novel content that is iPad specific (as well as new shared iPhone/iPad content) and will be released soon. We chose not to release it at launch because we have only just gotten some iPads in our hands, so we hadn't had an opportunity to test thoroughly until now- we want it to be as fun as it can be.

What we are doing is devising a new way to approach the game you already love so much- something that could only be done in the iPad. The actual creation of the content is done, we're in testing phase and will have it out for all of you soon!

Aside from that, we have a couple new small things we're doing as well"

So, FR HD won't be just an upscaled version but will have new updates coming. Yay
