hey guys...

i'm getting the 1.42 ghz mac mini+superdrive at a great price. My dealer is giving it at the price of the 1.42 ghz non-superdrive model!

he doesn't say it but i guessed from his talk that even he knows that Apple india are gonna stock him with the new mac minis.. he told me it's the last mini he has in stock!

Should i get it? I mean i'll miss out on the 64mb vram and ofcourse the new updated superdrives. Still can't decide.. i want the new model but am getting this one at such a good price..

What do u guys suggest?

How much do you think you need the extra VRAM? Personally, I wouldn't bother waiting for a similar deal with the newer ones unless you really want that extra VRAM. As with anything computer-related, you could keep on waiting forever to get the latest and greatest or you could just get what you need now and enjoy it for years to come. :)

Ye i agree with mad jew just go for it, you wont get a better deal with the new model, and the VRAM will hardly be worth it unless you really have a valid reason for needing it, the 1.42ghz mac mini's are pretty sweet.....

We can't make or influence your decision. You will still continue to think about what you want...
All I can say is: Do you need or just want one now? So do you think you can wait or not?

I can Make AND Influence your decision.
Go Buy it. It's a deal for two reasons, upgrades are coming that will cost regular price, and you want a MacMini (that reason alone should make you buy it). Win-Win situation for you and the Computer store guy.

So go buy it.

yeah.. i'll just buy it i guess.. anyways gaming is not my foray nor I have the time for it.. so 32 mb vram would be just perfect for me..

I'll have to wait as I have exams till saturday... hope the guy doesn't sell it till then :(

Put a deposit on it. Maybe he'll hold it for you.

Sounds like a great deal to me. That model will perform very well for the average user. I agree, you should deposit on that mini. Should also think about increasing the RAM, that will improve performance.

good move on having the mini held for you. it pays to ask...

i am not an accountant, but run a small design company.
i use myob and can seriously recommend it. easy to set up, easy to use, good support, multi currency (accounting plus), runs several businesses, stock control, contact info, payroll, time billing, easy to use financial reports. the latest versions let you run a shop and i believe accept credit cards as well.

not expensive, but if you want to update every so often, that costs.

check it out on the net and you can even try it for a time. if you have any specific use/questions, just ask. i'll try to answer.

cool you are getting a mini. :)

thank you guys!

just got the mini with superdrive... got it at a discounted price... figured out the 32 mb vram is more than enough for me and i won't need to write 8 gb dvds... also 1.42 ghz->1.5 ghz isn't a lot of difference. Certainly, the price I got it for certainly qualifies above all these points :)

it's just perfect for me considering the purpose I intend to use it for...
