I loved the old one be always found it not powerful enough to playback my 720p files (where as my 3GS could play them back perfectly)...

I know the new one is alot better but the only thing holding me back is the stuttering issue i have read about. Is the problem that bad? and do you think apple will solve it?

thanks

I'm sure the stutter will be fixed in the next software update. When it comes out, check back here and if it's gone, then definitely get it, cause it is awesome!

well im going to the apple store on sunday!

i really hope it gets sorted cos i really wanna get one :)

thanks

my only problem with the ATV2 is multiple home sharing accounts or multiple systems with different libraries streaming to it.
I returned mine as it wasnt exactly how I thought it would be but would buy one in an instant if it fixed those concerns.

otherwise its actually not bad at all, it makes sense.

I would say try it out.

Some people are not affected by the stuttering issue. (The source of the problem has been difficult to pinpoint.)

But if you do get one, pay special attention to HD material once the buffer is full.

so is stuttering down to the file being player or the atv2?

Buy it, try it for a few days and if you do not like it take it back.

We love both of ours, i have not rented from itunes but we watch netflix, our etyTV recorded material and my personal DVD collection and it has been great.

I bought my 2nd gen TV yesterday and really love it! I've watched two movies so far with no stuttering whatsoever. Try it and if you're not happy with it's performance just return it. :)

cool, maybe i shall pick one up!

the stuttering was the main thing i was worried about...

Stuttering is definitely an OS issue that will be resolved. If it's something deeper, Apple will have a major recall if it can't get HD to work properly.
