so my current mac is the MacBook pro 2019 model hear are my spec's

  • 2.3GHz 8-core 9th-generation Intel Core i9 processor
  • Turbo Boost up to 4.8GHz
  • AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 4GB of GDDR6 memory
  • 16GB of 2666MHz DDR4 memory
  • 1TB of SSD storage¹
  • 16-inch Retina display with True Tone

but i been wanting a mac for a while now due to the fact that i just don't need a laptop as i don't travel or move my laptop anywhere
the only thing i do with my mac is play light gaming moslty wow and use to edit on final cut pro.

if i get this new iMac is it a downgrade or an upgrade?

the one i am looking at is

The iMac M1 will struggle to provide a pleasant WoW experience. The M1 was just able to provide some sort of WoW playable experience on the 13" MacBooks and those have lower resolution. It maybe doable running at 1080p, not sure what settings you currently use.

I would also opt for 16GB RAM, that will bump the price up of the replacement iMac.
