Recently, my family's computer crashed. It was, unfortunately, a Windows computer. Then, instead of going out and getting a new computer, we just got the XP CD so that I could install it on my Mac. The problem is, will putting this on my Mac make any changes to the RAM or CPU speed. Space on my hard drive is not an issue, but computer RAM and CPU speed are. Am I going to regret using Boot Camp? Has anybody had any problems? I need some advice, please help!
EDIT: Also, will I be able to get rid of any viruses easily? Or if one ruins the computer, will it be dead for life?

How would it make changes to the hardware?

It'll run as fast as a Windows machine of those specifications.

Ok, but now I am worried about viruses. If a virus infects my hard drive, will I not be able to use the Mac side of it?

What Mac do you have? It won't slow down your Mac.

I have an Aluminum iMac with like 2.4 GH
