Should I Jailbreak?

Hey!

So, I've got LOTS of apps from the app store, and also participate in beta tests for developers.

If I were to jailbreak, can I keep all the apps, and continue to download apps from the appstore if I jailbreak?

Also, is there anyway to tell that it's jailbroken without seeing it on Apple or ATT's part?

Should I jailbreak? I'm not quite sure if it's sturdy enough, and I'm just nervous. I need someone to tell me if I should jailbreak, or keep what I have.

Yes, you can keep all your apps & you can continue to download apps from the app store too!

I didn't know whether or not to Jailbreak to begin with (1 week ago) but after I saw and read that nothing bad can happen to your iphone I decided to do it.

Restore will always fix any problems you get with jailbreaking and once you restore your iphone back to the way it was before, noone would ever know it was jailbroken to begin with.

Apple will only know if it's jailbroken if you take it in to be fixed (such as a button falls off or a hardware issue etc) but if you did a restore before taking it in to apple they wouldn't be any the wiser.

I think everyone should jailbreak their iphone because there is so much you have access to that you couldn't have before.

I got so bored of my iphone after around 2 hours of it being out the box, once I jailbroke it , I can't live without it now!

So yeah go for it , you'll be glad you did and if you get any problems come back here and someone will help you.

I too, have lots of apps from the app store, I am a beta tester for Aurora Feint, my iPhone is jailbroken, and I couldn't be much happier.

I've found that some apps do not work on a jailbroken device. But most do. You should be fine!

Personally, I don't jailbreak anymore because of the lag caused by themes (and with the App Store, themes are the only reason for me to jailbreak) ...

if you're a beta tester would they look at your Touch? cause i don't think a company purchased//consumer-used Touch should be jailbroken.

besides for that jailbreaking is worth it, everything stays the same. it takes a couple minutes.

I've tried 3 times using QuickPwn and Pwnage, and both leave me hanging at the end, just with the logo, no spinning wheel or anything.

I've had to restore 3 times too. I much rather use QuickPwn, but why does it keep hanging? What am I doing, or not doing right at the end? I waited about 10 minutes, and it was still an apple logo.

Did you upgrade to 2.2 in itunes first before using Quickpwn 2.2?

If so....

Sometimes it might be because you have left your iphone connected via USB at the end or it could be something went wrong in the process.

Some people have to restore a number of times to get it :/

When do I unplug the USB? Didn't know it mattered.

I have read a few people have had their iphones still plugged in when the rebooting process was occuring and they ran into problems and found disconnecting their iphone helped. Maybe they were wrong and it wasn't due to that.

Actually, it's a benefit to have your beta testers as diverse as possible. Just be sure to specify that you are on a jailbroken device on any reports that you submit.
