I've mostly been using my AirPod Pros to mow the lawn then put them back in their case after letting them dry out. Should I rinse them off first?

They're not dirty, but I do sweat on them some.

Apple has a document on how to clean AirPods. Rinsing them is not recommended.

Oh also, I'm not sure if this is your use case but, ANC isn't a great substitute for proper ear protection.

For mowing the lawn, i've found APP ANC to be great. Haven't found a need for proper ear muffs since owning the AirPods Pro.

Of course. I use them to give me something to listen to, not for ear protection.

Maybe I should get something to go over them? I'm getting old, my ears aren't getting any younger.

I always keep a canister of wet wipes handy for wiping down my AirPods. They can get ear wax on them after a week or two.

But I wouldn’t rinse them off under a faucet.

I sometimes use mine under 3M Earmuff's. You can orient the APPs so the "stalk" of the APPs is pointing up and to the rear. That allows the hearing protection to fit properly.
Of course that depends on the size and shape of your ears. I guess I have big ears.
