So I finally got my 11 PM yesterday via eBay and it seems to be working fine.
The exterior looks good, but the battery life is at 90%.

I was also able to get the seller to transfer the Apple Care to me, and it has a little under a year left ( Ends October).

I'm pretty careful with my phone and have already slapped on a Tempered screen protector on it and with Covid still happening I doubt I'd be leaving the house often and get ti damaged. It woud be nice to try and get the battery repleaced, but with apple's under 80% rule I don't know if I can fry the battery quick enough to do that with the remaining year.

So now I'm wondering if it would be worth it to keep or get a partial refund on the Apple Care?
Anyone got any advice or anectodes?

I would just keep it. A lot can happen in a year and as you said the battery is already down to 90%. The refund would only be at most around 100 bucks anyway, minus any value that was already used by the previous owner, if any.

It is honestly up to you, if you believe the phone is in perfect/good condition I would cancel it. My Xs Max was replaced out of warranty for free and I renewed applecare+ after(monthly). I will probably keep it for 2-3 months since it sat in the apple store for a full year and had issues during setup (vibrator motor would not stop until a restore).

Also, what screen protector did you go with? I purchased an Icarez from amazon and had to return it (bubbles no matter what).

I don't believe they used any of the claims yet, but yeah my paranoia is what's keeping me from canceling in.

But $100 is quite a bit of money (well to me anyway haha).
Which I could use towards next year's phone. I'm hoping since Apple has gotten 5G out of the way I can expect better improvments next year.
First time buying used so it is a nice liberating feeling not being tied to a usual 2-yr contract.

As for Screen protector, I went with Ailun Screen Protector. No probs with my 8+ and so far no probs on my 11.

With the iPhone added to your iCloud and Apple account, you can look at your profile and pull up any support history that would be associated with the device.

@PieTunes
Thanks! Just double-checked and it looks like there are no claims made so it's still got all of them so far.

Thank you all so far for your opinions!
I'm honestly leaning towards canceling it at the moment,
but I'm going to just play with my phone for a week just to get a feel for it before jumping the gun.
